° 6.7.1840; + 13.11.1917. Pierre Jean Byl’s daughter and wife of the artist-painter and engraver Louis Jacobs (1855 - 1929), whom she married in Dendermonde on 22.2.1879. She had been the operator in her parents' studio throughout the 1870s.
1888 * - 1900 / Termonde, Rue des Soeurs Noires
Arrived at this address in July 1888 which featured an "entirely new installation" (Gazette van Dendermonde, 22.7.1888). Also sold fine art prints, mirrors and picture frames here. Views of Termonde. Jacobs - Byl's husband celebrated her 25 years as a photographer in 1895 by composing a celebratory ode. Moved, with her family, to suburban Appels, "Villa der Schoone Kunsten" in Veerstraat, in 1899, but continued to operate at this address on Sundays, Mondays and Thursdays.

Moved to this address, coming from Rue des Soeurs Noires, in November 1900, a move advertised in January 1901 (Het Licht, 13.1.1901). This building was Jacobs - Byl's parental house and contained the studio in which she had previously operated on behalf of her father Pierre Jean Byl and then her widowed mother.
